The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003 (FACTA) grants you one free credit report every year from each of the three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies:
You can request one, two, or all three reports at the same time, or space out your requests over a 12-month period.
Should you request all your reports at one time?
It really depends on your goals. An advantage to ordering all your reports at one time is that you're able to compare the information each of the credit bureaus has collected on you. However, if you stagger your requests and opt to order a report every four months, you'll be able to spot errors or unauthorized activity that has occurred sooner.
